Hopkinton Location Only: Sailing Review & Procedure for sailing at Regatta Point at Hopkinton State Park

Saturday, May 18, 2024 (9:00 am - 12:00 pm)

Leader: Carolyn Breault

Event Information

The purpose of this class is to provide sailing members from last year or the year before with a refresh of the positions of sailing, coming about, jibing and man overboard. We will also spend time detailing the procedures for sailboat sign out and emergency procedures. The plan for Hopkinton is to have 17 foot O'Day Sailors as the primary sailing instruction boat. We will go over the rigging and unrigging of the daysailor, location of sails, equipment and life jackets and how boats will be kept after you are done sailing. This is a great opportunity to become familiar with our new location. This is a group class, where there may be 4 people on a boat depending on registration. This class is not geared for a 1st time or beginner sailor. It is for Regatta Point members who have received a helmsman rating. People signing up for this class must have an active 2024 Membership. This class is required in order for Helmsman to sail at Hopkinton on the weekends during May.

Members only need to sign up for ONE of the three classes in order to be qualified to sail at Regatta Point at Hopkinton State Park.
